Customer Review: touring? really?
Description says “hybrid/road.” Item says, “hybrid/touring.” This is, in fact, a big difference. Of course, I do have a touring bike, so I tried. Doesn’t fit anyway. There is NO WAY this can fit on my bike, there are no holes where it could attach, and my brakes are in the way even if there were holes. My bike does have a number of extra holes where I might put a number of things, but not where this product wants there to be holes. Most road bikes would not have those holes. I tried it on my husband’s trail/mountain bike, a style more similar to hybrids, which almost worked except the screws provided were too large for his holes. Also, poor directions. Three sizes of screws, no way to tell which was for which area, though it was a moot point as these fenders didn’t fit anywhere. Maybe these would work on a touring that’s been made into a fixie, but the only way to get onto my bike would be with fifteen zip ties.

An excellent trainer (noticeably better than the Minoura I had previously). Even after the first 45 minute ride I could see the accelerated wear from friction on my rear Krylion tire, so an essential requirement is a tire for trainers. I will be interested to see what sort of lifespan I get from one of these tires…

I’m not sure what kind of roads the previous reviewer rides on or if the fault is with his tubes, but I’ve been running this tire for two years now with great results. Only one flat has happened the whole time and that was a “goatshead” thorn I picked up on a trail that would’ve flattened pretty much any tire. I highly recommend this tire for economy and overall performance.

These are just terrible tires and flat more than any other tire I’ve ever used. I got a pair on a new bike and they are flatting like crazy (I use correct pressure, am not heavy, and ride on clean roads). They essentially have no puncture protection at all and I have zero confidence in them now. I’m replacing them with different tires. I’d never, ever consider using these in a race longer than 1 mile because the odds say I’ll lose time fixing a flat.

Customer Review: Perfect tire for converting a mtn bike to road.
Used this tire for my single speed project. Turned an old mountain bike frame into a single speed for around town use. This tire is excellent for that purpose. Essentially a road bike tire for a standard 26″ mountain bike wheel.

Just be aware that you will probably need to purchase new tube as well. the tire calls for a much smaller tube than a typical mountain bike tire. It needs a 1″ - 1.5″ tube. I would recommend the smallest tube as the 1.25 - 1.5 I used was a tight fit but worked just fine.

Otherwise this is a great tire that I don’t hesitate to recommend. Like most Michelin tires it is more expensive that competitors but in my research it is the only true road tire available for a 26″ wheel.

installed these on my 1993 trek mtn bike. It shifts perfectly now- better than new. no breakin adjustments in the first 300 miles so far.

maybe my old cables/bike was a pos, but these cables are amazing, next stop my road bike and fisher.

I have used Aztec Teflon coated cable (both for brakes and gears) with fine results. It’s simply a cable, after all. The Teflon coating is a nice touch and reasonably priced, IMO.
Customer Review: absolutely unbelievable service — blame the customer
Bought their “road brake cable set” (housing + 2 cables) for a 56cm
bike.

On trying to install, discovered that they’d given way too little housing.
My bike has an internal cable routing through the top tube, not the
split ends. The amount of housing was enough to do the rear brake
and about 4″ left over. basically over 1′ short.

Sent an email first. No answer after a week.

Called their 800 and talked with the office manager.
Explained the situation, and was told
1) I should buy another cable set because I have an old bike and “you
should have known that you’d need more”
2) asked for a piece of housing to do the front brake, and she replied
that “I can’t just GIVE you that. that would cost me money and wouldn’t
do me any good. your local bike shop can probably just give you
some cable housing” (hmm, why would I have just bought some teflon
cables?) “we distribute someone’s brake cables from some factory in taiwan
and can’t really ship you one” (despite the fact that you can order from
their webpage)
3) oh, and in response me stating that I would post a bad review –
“well, I’ve got your CallerID and we’ll get you for slander”

Hard to believe companies and service departments like this exist anymore.
I’ve got 11 bikes. They got me on one set of cables, but not another.
So go to Amazon, ebay, or elsewhere and look up “teflon cables” or
“teflon brake*” and you’ll get lots of other options, some of which will
be identical to these and from companies that understand customer
service. I tried one of these, and the construction was identical
and they were cheaper.

I’ll say thanks also to Amazon for having the guts not to squelch bad
reviews, even though I’m sure it hurts their bottom line. It sure makes
me choose to buy from them rather than the alternatives.

Customer Review: Best tire I’ve ridden
Not sure why I waited so long to buy my first pair of Rubino Pros. They’re a little more expensive than other tires, but well worth it. I’ve only done about 150 miles so far since getting them two weeks back, but they’ve proven to have great traction on wet and dry roads (more confidence on the downhill corners!). They’re also pretty durable.

Where else are you going to get that combination?

I’d rather review it after putting a few thousand miles on them, but I haven’t flatted yet in a couple hundred miles, they grip well, and they ride a lot better than my last tires (granted, those were 20mm). Besides, the only factor that will matter to most people is that they’re the right color for their Bianchi. Admit it, they do look pretty sweet.
